Our Academic Journey: Building Foundations for Lifelong Success
Our academic programme is designed to guide each student on a coherent and inspiring educational journey. We begin by nurturing a love for learning in the early years, establishing strong foundational skills in literacy and numeracy. As students progress, our curriculum intentionally evolves to foster greater independence, critical thinking, and subject mastery, ensuring they are not only well-prepared for each subsequent phase but are also equipped with the confidence and curiosity to thrive.
FOUNDATION PHASE - GRADE R TO 3
Our Foundation Phase is where the joy of learning begins. In these formative years, we focus on developing fundamental literacy and numeracy skills in a nurturing and play-based environment. We place a strong emphasis on holistic development, fostering social skills, creativity, and a positive self-image through activities that engage the whole child, laying a solid and enthusiastic foundation for their entire school journey.
INTERMEDIATE PHASE - GRADE 4 TO 6
Building upon the foundational skills, the Intermediate Phase marks a significant shift towards greater independence and subject specialization. Learners are introduced to a broader curriculum, where subjects like Natural Sciences and Technology, Social Sciences, and Life Skills become distinct learning areas. The focus moves from learning to read to reading to learn, as we develop critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. We encourage our students to explore their interests, take on more responsibility, and consolidate the core knowledge and skills necessary for a successful transition into the Senior Phase.
BEGINNING OF SENIOR PHASE - GRADE 7
Grade 7 serves as the vital bridge between the Intermediate and Senior Phases, preparing learners for the increased academic demands of high school. As the final year of the primary schooling band in South Africa, it consolidates all previous learning while introducing a more formal and specialised approach. Learners are taught by subject-specific teachers and begin to develop the self-discipline and organisational skills essential for success in Grade 8 and beyond. We focus on fostering resilience, leadership, and a mature approach to learning, ensuring our students are confident, well-prepared, and ready to thrive in the next exciting chapter of their education.
